I think it's obvious we are definitely due for a new post! I can't believe it's already half way through February! It seems the new year has just begun. Cody and I just recently passed our "one year engagment anniversary" which means we have almost been married a whole year! I know it's cliche, but time seriously flys when you're having fun! We have had a wonderful nine months together. I have been blessed with the perfect man, made just for me. He is my best friend, and is better than I could have ever dreamed up. I just feel so blessed. Though it has been the usual busy, busy, busy...Cody and I are enjoying this stage of our lives to it's fullest. On late night study nights, we try to pump ourselves up to stay awake as late as possible. If we feel the sleepy eyes coming, we'll jam on our guitars (I acutally just started lessons to share this hobby with Cody), take a few laps around the apartment, or whatever else it takes to wake us up! School isn't the easiest, but it's a blast when you get to share it with your honey!:)
A few highlights from the past month...
We've started out the semester well. I'm taking a lighter load of 12 credits (two of which consist of guitar and billiards) and Cody is taking 17 credits...what a trooper! My classes include Int. Accounting 2, Corporate Finance, Discussions w/business leaders, and Income Taxation (perfect time of year for a tax class, I know). Cody is taking Organic Chemistry 2, Microbiology, DAT prep, Advanced Spanish Grammar, Pre-dental orientation, and Billiards. We are also taking an Institute class where we buddy up with special needs friends and help them along during the class. We have really enjoyed it! They have such strong testimonies and are so sweet! We will be applying for dental shcool this Spring. Wish us luck! Cody's been busy with volunteer hours at the hospital and shadowing a variety of denists to help out with his application. We know whether we get in this year or the next, it will be the right time. We just finished our first wave of tests and are preparing for the crash test week right before Spring Break. It's going to be craziness!
Grandma Christensen's funeral was very special. I think the hardest part is seeing how much Grandpa loves and misses her. Cody said he had never seen grandpa cry until he saw grandma at the viewing. The family has really rallied around him though. I know Cody's uncle and his family stayed an extra week to spend Valentines Day and his birthday with him. Cody prepared the eulogy for Grandma and did such a wonderful job. I didn't know what an incredible writer he is! I'm sure Grandma was very proud. Mom C. and Tayli were going to sing "Teach Me to Walk in the Light" but Tayli didn't feel well at all the morning of the funeral and so Mom C. and Dad C. sang what Mom C. was going to sing, and Cody and I took Tayli's part. Talk about nerve wrecking! I was not planning on performing, but it was much better finding out 5 min. before the funeral rather then letting the nerves build the entire week:) It turned out just fine and I'm glad I was able to participate in the program. Grandma was such a special woman, and was so prepared for the next life. We miss her very much.
Last night we attended the Jazz Game in the Eclipse Suite. It was super fun. I was sad when we heard we missed the World Wide Training Broadcast. We must have missed the memo. We heard how wonderful it was from just about everyone! We checked on lds.org to see if we could find anything about it, but it just had a message saying they'll have something up before the end of the month. We're excited for this summer though. I recently signed on to be the office manager for the Indianapolis/Columbus, OH office this summer. I'm excited for the experience and to get lots of internship credit!:) Yeah!
It was so nice to have Mom and Dad Moon up in Logan today. They came to hear us speak in Sacrament meeting and to have a Sunday lunch. They are such supportive parents. We are lucky to have them. Cody and I spoke on Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loveth at all times." Another couple spoke on the same thing so there was lots of love in the air...maybe they planned that for Valentines Day? The Peacegiver, a book by James Ferrell. If you haven't already read it...I HIGHLY recommend it!
