the big 6

That's right, Jaden is now six months old!  Where has the time gone?!?  It's crazy for me to think he's already half way through his first year!

Some highlights from Jaden's world this past month:
  • sitting up on his own for a few moments at a time
  • great at grabbing and manipulating just about anything he can get his hands on
  • started the coveted rice cereal for the first time (with a little oatmeal here and there and a some carrots)
  • has learned to keep his hands still while mommy feeds him (for the most part)
  • discovered his feet and toes (can't get enough of 'em)
  • new favorite talking sounds: "bah bah bah bah" and "da da da da"
  • went from 6 feedings, every 3 hours, 3 naps a day and 10 hours nighttime sleep to 4 feedings, every 4 hours, 2 naps a day and 12 hours nighttime sleep in the matter of days (didn't expect that to happen just quite yet, but I'm lovin' it!  my baby is growing up way too fast!)
  • has grown a nice coat of blonde peach fuzz (with a few super long baby hairs still in the mix)
  • has one tooth cutting through on top
  • enjoying the sunshine more and more (it's been cold and wintery practically his entire life so we're soaking in all we can get!)
His stats:
  • height - 29 inches (over 97%)
  • weight - 19 lbs. 13 oz. (75-80%)
  • head - 47 cm (over 97%)
And some moments caught on camera from this past month:

Jaden is seriously giddy when daddy comes home!

This boy finally has a finished nursery, too!  Cody whipped it together in 2 days flat over spring break.  Love it, babe.

Happy 6 months little man!  Love, love, love you!

*easter*

Happy Easter everyone!  We had a great weekend just chillin' at home watching conference and then spending some time down in Seymour with Cody's Uncle Danny and his fam.  Saturday morning we dyed some Easter eggs and Jaden went crazy over them!  It was hilarious, but we had to keep a close eye so he wouldn't put them in his mouth!  Funny boy!

Being that we're here in Indy, we missed the annual "Easter on the Hill" with the Cutler family.  Remember Easter 2008 and Easter 2009?  So we thought we'd just continue the tradition in our own little way.  We roasted dogs over the fire and then rolled a few eggs down our mini-hill in the back yard.  We had a great time and Jaden loved it!

On Easter morning, we found a little something the Easter Bunny left for Jaden.  He just wanted to chew on everything in his basket, including the grass!  It was fun to see him get excited about all the new things to play with!  Having a child just makes holidays so exciting all over again:)

Then it was off to Seymour!  We really enjoyed hanging out with the Christensen's.  We watched conference, ate a super yummy Easter dinner, did an egg hunt, and then watched more conference.  I really enjoyed all the messages and feel motivated as a Mother to teach Jaden and prepare him to face the world.  The responsibility of parents was definitely emphasized during this conference and really hit home for me.

The egg hunt was great!  Jaden spotted just one little yellow egg hangin' out in a flower pot right next to the start line.

We had a blast and Jaden just adored Uncle Danny and Aunt Monique!  They were so great with him.  We feel blessed to have family nearby and it's always a treat when we get together.

Those of you who know the Christensen fam, know they love pets, especially birds!  I think Cody warmed up to the little things much better than I did.  Ha.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend!:)
