This is the extent of our update....

A little update

This week has been a roller coaster of emotions. We've been taking exams, finishing up semester projects, and spending time with the Cutler crew. Thursday evening we got a call from Cody's parents informing us that things with Grandpa had taken a sudden change. Instead of making slow and steady progress, Grandpa's body was beginning to shut down. There were some complications with his small intestine, and so the doctor's took a look and found there was nothing they could do. This was the main concern, but his kidneys, liver, and other organs were also slowing down big time. We rushed down to the Murray hospital as soon as we heard the news and were there with the rest of the family as we watched Grandpa pass away. We made it just in time. It was probably the most difficult thing to watch, but amazing to see the veil slowy thinning for a loved one. We were glad to see Grandpa one last time and be there to support and comfort the rest of the family. It was emotionally draining. It was really special to see the family gather around him and cheer him on with reassurances that it was okay to go. At the same time, it just made your heart sink. It was a huge testimony builder of the Plan of Salvation and eternal families. How grateful I am for knowledge that we will all be together forever. Death only parts us for a short while.
Well, Tayli and Derek stayed with us Thursday and Friday night while Mom and Dad C. spent some time with Grandma. They helped her get things organized and ready to go for the funeral service...which will be this Thursday at 10 a.m. Friday night, Tayli and I made dinner while Cody and Derek looked at some cars for Der. Being only girls at the house, we decided to have some girly fun! We turned on the music and jammed in the kitchen while making some taco soup. Tayli put her hair in curlers because I had mine in claws. (Hence, the pictures) It was just too cute;) Mom and Dad C. joined us on Saturday to do some car shopping with Derek. We went out to dinner and to the Aggie basketball game, as well. We were behind at the start of the game but brought it back up by half time. It was pretty close the entire game, but we managed to stay just enough ahead to claim the game! Go Aggies!!!:)
Today was a wonderful fast Sunday. We enjoyed hearing testimonies and having some time to relax. This is our last week of classes before finals! Wish us luck!

The Stash

As you can see, we have been so absorbed with other activities that Cody hasn't even had a chance to think about shaving that scruff! Well before he let it all go, he kept the stash just to see how it suited him. What do ya think, eh?

Thanksgiving

It's been awhile since we've been on the blogging scene so we thought we better get back into it. It's been a busy past two weeks but full of what we love most...family! A couple weeks ago, we gathered with the family at Grandma VO's to celebrate Keith's birthday and watch the BYU vs. Wyoming game. What a pickle! How to decide who to root for?! Just kidding! We totally were cheering for BYU. It was fun to chill for a few hours and play with the kids, Parker and Logan. It's so cute to see Parker interact with Logan...he gets so excited! We also spent that evening with Grandpa Cutler at the hospital. He had just had heart surgery that week, and we wanted to see how he was doing. At this point, he is slowly progressing. He still has the tube in his mouth, but was able to sit up for about 45 minutes this past weekend. It was so nice to have a break from school this past weekend. The Cutler family stayed with us for a few days while they did their Christmas shopping, visited Grandpa, and enjoyed Thanksgiving. Believe it or not, we fit all seven of us comfortably in our little basement apartment. A bit cozy, but we loved it! Marianne and Scott came up on Friday to pick up some equipment and chill. It was great having them with us. Marianne and I spent some time at the park with Cody's siblings while he and Scott loaded up the equipment. (These are a few shots we caught while there.) It was a bit chilly, but great weather for the usual Logan at this time of year. We actually had our first snow today! Can you believe we almost made it all the way through November! Cody and I definitely need to invest in a snow shovel. Our driveway is packed with white fluffy snow:) We're counting down to the end of the semester...only three more weeks! Yeah! We're thrilled. We hope to have lots of time to visit with family over the holiday. We love you all! It was great seeing everyone over Thanksgiving.

We finally got nabbed!!

This week was spent mostly studying for upcoming exams. Cody has one in Genetics on Friday and Camille has two, one in Natural Disasters on Monday, and one in Accounting on Wednesday. We've been hitting the books pretty hard needless to say. We did, however, find time to go to the USU basketball's season opener on Friday against SUU. It's fun to get the basketball season up and running again. Cody gets really into it. On Saturday USU played against Weber at Weber, and Cody listened intently on the radio in our living room. He was very disappointed when they lost. Camille tries her best to follow along, and asks Cody whenever she doesn't understand whats going on. We finally got a calling in our ward today. We were called to be the ward librarians. We were excited, because we were hoping for something that we could do together. We feel important because we're two of the few who knows the secret combo to the library;) We're also expanding our boundaries in the world of cooking. We have discovered the luxury known as the "crockpot". Last Sunday we made barbecue chicken in it, and this week we left some chicken with alfredo sauce in it to cook while we were at church. It made some good chicken alfredo. It's the best thing since sliced bread!! The weather has been really nice here. We finally got some rain that cooled things off here today, but besides that we still don't have to wear jackets. Who knows how long this will last, but better enjoy it while it lasts!! We're counting down the days till Thanksgiving Break. We can't wait to have a few days off and see you guys.

A~Attached or Single: I am soooooo eternally attached!

B~Best Friend: Cody, my dear husband. We are a team in every decision we make. I couldn't ask for a better companion and friend. We were definitely made for each other.

C~Cake or Pie: Well, I do love my chocolate cake and the only pie I'll eat is Dad's apple or peach pie. So in order of importance...Dad's pie, chocolate cake, and then all the other cakes and regular pies just don't cut it.

Day of Choice: Hmmm...I would say Fridays because it is our date night. I don't have work or school so I can spend the day cleaning and doing other projects and then when Cody gets home around 6:30 p.m. its just him and me time...no books.

E~Essential Item: My hair straightener. My hair would be fuzz without it...unless I let it go curly. It is getting a bit old though...so I'm hoping to get a brand new chi in the near future. It's basically a skinny straightener that you can use as a curling iron too. Oh, and my planner. My life thrives off of it...well maybe not that extreme, but it definitely keeps it in order:)

F~Favorite Color: It's always been pink, but I've really liked deep red lately. Thanks to Marianne, it is the color of our front room and our study room has taken it on as well.

G~Gummi Bears or Worms: I would say bears. They're bite size, so you don't have to strain your teeth to tear them up. Plus, back in the days of flute playing, my teacher would have me put gummy bears in between my back teeth to prevent me from closing down my mouth. It was like voice...I had to keep everything open. I loved having an excuse for Mom to buy me a treat too;)

H~Hometown: Centerville, Utah (lived 9 years in one home and 9 years in a second home...then off to college!)

I~Indulgences: Shopping and chocolate! Truth be told, I actually don't enjoy shopping very much (and I don't go very often), but I LOVE the results! Chocolate, however, I do keep on hand.

J~January or July: July. There's no school, just basking in the sun without the books.

K~Kids: Well...We're looking forward to 2-3 boys and 2-3 girls.

L~Life is Incomplete Without: The Gospel, Family, and Love.

M~Marriage Date: May 8, 2007...almost 6 months ago! This is such a memorable day for us. I love to reminisce...

N~Number of Siblings: I have a Brady Bunch family. I have 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and I am the second to youngest.

O~Oranges or Apples: I like both, but prefer apples. Neither are my favorite though... I go for grapes, bananas, and mango.

P~Phobias or Fears: Spiders, bugs, and anything creepy crawly! Good thing we live in a fifty year old basement...tee hee;)

Q~Quotes: "We may not have it all together, but together we have it all." This is a quote we have hanging in our front room...a great reminder.

R~Reason to Smile: I have so many reasons to smile. Sometimes I don't understand how I can be so blessed. What makes me smile the most is Cody. It doesn't matter what mood I'm in, he knows exactly how to put a smile on my face...every time!:)

S~Season: I love the beautiful changing leaves of Autumn. Our street is covered with huge trees and the leaves have just been incredible!

T~Tag Three: Amanda VO, Nanette, and Andrew---TAG YOUR IT!

U~Unknown Fact: Hmmm...I'm a pretty open person, so I don't know if there's anything people don't really know about me. Lately, however, I have found that marshmallow maties with strawberry yogurt is very yummy.

V~Vacation Spot: Cancun, Mexico was the most exotic and romantic! We spent a wonderful honeymoon in the waves and sunshine.

W~Worst Habit: It has always been procrastination, but some how it seems to work out. Oh, and this may be a little gross, but I tend to pick scabs...I just don't like the feeling of un-smooth skin.

X~X-Rays or Ultrasound: Considering I have never had an ultrasound, I would have to say x-rays. They're not to bad, and it's fun to see what your bones look like, I guess.

Y~Your Favorite Food: Pizza! This has somehow stuck with me since I was a little girl. Cody and I will go to a fancy Italian restaurant, and I'll still order pizza...even if they only serve it as an appetizer. I would say I eat pizza for a meal at least three times a week. I don't know if I'll ever be able to give it up:)

Bzzzzz

Hello Family! I know it's been awhile since y'all heard from us. We've been stuck in the books like glue. There's just no escaping them! The past two weeks we've been taking tests, quizzes, working on semester projects, not sleeping, eating some, and loving it all along the way. Tuesday night, Cody only slept for one hour! He had a huge organic chemistry exam the next morning and it was a beast! I've never seen anyone study so hard and for so long. I took two Accounting exams and did alright...it's definitely some tough business. We're still working part time, as well. (However, Cody will be quitting ICON by Thanksgiving so if any of you want to buy some exercise equipment, now is the time;) We had a Halloween party at my work on Wednesday and I dressed up like a cat. We played Halloween games all night to celebrate the holiday. Cody dressed up as an Aggie fan and went to the basketball game with our friends, Klint and Emily. We did get one trick-or-treater too! Good thing we bought some candy just in case. That was pretty much the extent of our holiday. Friday night Cody and I went to the cutest movie ever! It's called "Bee Movie." We highly recommend it to everyone. It's a great family film. Here is the trailer for it just to give you an idea.

Saturday we went to the sealing of two of our friends, Wade and Francine. We haven't been to a sealing since our own wedding day and it was such a joy to be there and be reminded of the covenants we have made. It was crazy...I think I was more emotional at there's than at our own wedding...probably because I wasn't so anxious and nervous this time!:) It was a beautiful ceremony. I felt so happy for them. Francine is actually a convert to the church and was baptized just barely a year ago. I know they had been waiting for this day for a very long time so she could go through the temple. It was so special to be there and share the day with them. It strengthened my testimony of eternal families and how important it is to keep Heavenly Father a part of our marriage and family. Several of he testimonies born today in testimony meeting talked a lot about eternal families, as well. It was wonderful. I'm so grateful for each of you and for my own newly-wed little family. What a blessing.

Run, run, run!

This weekend was jam packed; it felt like we just kept running from one event to another! It was super fun though! We really enjoyed our fall break on Friday. It was so nice to sleep in and not worry about getting up for early classes. Cody worked during the day, while Camille stayed home cleaning and relaxing. That evening we went to the temple with a group of other couples...some old friends and some new ones too:) It's so nice to have a temple nearby. That's something we really missed while in Virginia. Afterwards, everyone came back to our place for ice cream, candy, and Cody's new specialty...7-up martinis:) We played some games and got to know everyone better. It was a total blast. The next day, Cody woke up super early to make it down to Salt Lake City for a practice DAT exam. It was hard, but good practice for the real thing! Camille spent the morning shopping for bridal showers...she had one at 12 and another at 1. I guess it's the season for more weddings:) She only got to spend about a half hour or so at each one because she had a dinner date with work friends form the summer down in SLC at 3:30. So after racing down to Grandma VO's to meet Cody, we got all dolled up for the evening and headed to Rodizio's Grill. This was the first time we had eaten there, and we loved it! It's all you can eat Brazilian food...mmmmm. They have an amazing salad bar with just about everything, and then they come around with every kind of meat you can think of lined up on these huge skuors and slide off however much you want onto your plate. It was so good and so filling! After dinner we went to Cody's company banquet for his summer job. It was a blast! We played the price is right and they gave out tons of prizes. We didn't win anything, but we did get free T-shirts and $11! Wahoo:) The only thing we didn't like about it, was it seemed like the theme of the night was money. They had money cannons and emphasized what all the top dawgs made that summer. It's a good job to make some dough, but definitely something we only want to do for a few summers to get us by. That didn't get out 'til 10 p.m. so we decided to stay at Mamma and Papa Moon's for the night to avoid any black ice...it rained and snowed through the entire banquet! We headed back to Logan the next morning and enjoyed Ward Conference in the afternoon. It was nice to meet our Stake Presidency...I actually think Lester Essig's brother is one of our counselors. His last name is Essig and they look and act so much alike! It was kind of crazy. Well after church, we headed to our friends, Chris and Lyndsey's house for dinner. They went all out! It felt like a traditional Sunday dinner....mashed potatoes, courd an bleu, corn, green salad, and rolls. It's not very often we get to eat like that;) We also played this newly wed game where you see how well you know your spouse. It was cool...we didn't win but it was only by a couple points! Now we're back home enjoying our evening and catching up on everyone's blogs and emails. It's good to hear what everyone's doing! We love you guys! Have an awesome week.

Lots of Food!

We spent most of the week in the books or working, so it seems we always blog about the weekends. Well, this weekend was full of great food! Friday night we enjoyed Parmesan chicken and rice...compliments of Christine's cookbook. Oh, was it yummy! Camille really misses cooking... in the summer it seemed like every night we got to try something new, and now we look forward to weekend dinners when we're not so busy with work and school. On Saturday we did a major cleaning!!! Lots of soap and lots of scrubbing! We turned on some great music and made it a fun little project. It's so nice to have everything sparkling clean:) That night, we took advantage of Olive Garden's last night of never-ending pasta bowls, salad, and bread sticks. Mmm mmm good! We have always loved Olive Garden. Afterwards, some friends came over to see the place and visit. Speaking of which...we would love to have all of you come up sometime for a BBQ at the park across the street. We may have to wait until it gets warmer, but you're always welcome! Well Sunday was very enjoyable. We feel like we are more involved in the ward, and made some great friends yesterday! It turns out a girl Camille works with who just got married moved into the ward! Yeah! So yesterday at the linger longer we spent time getting to know her and her husband better. (This adds to our weekend of yummy food...our bishop's wife made these awesome cream cheese french toast....wow...so good.) That evening we had a dinner date with one of Cody's best friends and his wife. So lots and lots of food! Later that night someone from the ward came over to talk about emergency preparedness. Our stake has been really pushing it this year, and so it must be important! We'll be working on our food storage and 7-day survival kits in the near future for sure. Now it's the start of a new week and more school, school, work, and school! Yeah! You just gotta love this time of life:)

Mmm, mmm, mmm, how we love Dad's apple pie! We enjoyed it all week long, savoring every morsel. Thanks for pie Dad! Nothing beats it:)

Wonderful Conference Weekend

This weekend was so great! We finally got a short break from the books to spend Conference weekend with the Moon fam. Saturday was pretty chill. We got to stay in the "Presidential Sweet" (this is what they call Camille's former bedroom). They thought of every detail, even down to the mint on each pillow. Cody got to celebrate his birthday an extra day with the Moon Fam gift opening. He loves his new shirt and tie! He wore it to the Priesthood session and looked oh so snazzy. Camille tried to study up on Accounting while she awaited her honey, but only made it an hour before she was napping on the couch. Once the boys arrived home from Priesthood, Andrew was off to pick up his homecoming date and Cody and I played around on the piano, looked at our wedding album proofs, and prepared the house for the homecoming dates to come for ice cream and games after the dance. It's weird to think how young those High Schoolers seem, when Camille was only there just two-three years ago. It was a huge dance group! It seemed like they were taking over the house! They pretty much occupied every room. It was fun to get to know Andrew's friends better, and see all the beautiful dresses the girls wore. The next morning we enjoyed Conference and a wonderful breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. In between conferences we met with the Christensen family (Nanette's extended relatives) and had a yummy lunch. It was good to see family we haven't seen in months and Camille got to meet several she didn't already know. Carl, one of the cousins, offered us tickets to the Sunday afternoon session, so we quickly finished our lunch to make it to the Conference Center on time. Well, it turns out parking was crazy! We looked and looked for a spot and it just didn't work out in time to make it. We decided to head back to Centerville and enjoy the rest of the day with the Moons. After conference, we had Hawaiian haystacks and yummy homemade apple pie! Mmm mmm. We took a short nap and then played this game where you ask tons of questions and get to know the group really well (some of you remember it as the "Go, go, go some more game";). We eventually made it back to Logan around 10:30 Sunday evening. It was quite the weekend, and we had tons of fun! Conference was wonderful. We really enjoyed the talks about talking to non-members about the church and our basic beliefs. Elder Holland has a knack for just saying it how it is...he has such power in his words. It is always a joy listening to our prophet's voice.

Cody's B-Day (from Cody's Perspective)

Camille made my B-day awesome!! The whole day was full of surprises like breakfast in bed, presents the night before and the day of, a "pluthera" of balloons and decorations, and an ice cream cake that tasted like heaven. Thank goodness for Dairy Queen. Overall it was one of the best B-days of my B-day career. It was also fun to see the Cutler family and watch Derek's football team womp on Laramie. Thanks for all the "happy b-days" from everyone.

Cody's Birthday

This weekend we celebrated Cody's 23rd birthday! We had a yummy breakfast and opened gifts in the morning (and 1:30 in the morning before we went to bed the night before...Cody talked me into letting him open some because it was "officially" his birthday...tee hee...he is too persuasively cute:). Once Cody got home from work we traveled up to Green River and spent the weekend with the Cutler Clan. We went to Derek's game (which they won 18-0!) and then had ice cream cake afterwards...Cody just loves his ice cream! The next day Brad and Cody went golfing (as much as the weather would allow) and Nan and I went to the Relief Society Broadcast and dinner with the other sisters of their stake. I felt a little out of place because I didn't know anyone, but they were super friendly and I felt included quickly. Last night we visited Cody's buddy, Rob, and his wife, Mel. (Rob was a groomsman at the wedding if that helps refresh any memories.) It was good to see friends again. We woke up early this morning and traveled back to Logan to make it to our 1:30 church. It was a fun weekend, and good to be with family. We can't wait to go down to Centerville next weekend! We've missed the Moons tons!:) We've loved reading everyone's blogs though, and hopefully we'll keep up with our blog more. I totally spaced taking any pictures on Cody's birthday because I was too busy with the camcorder. I did take one random picture at the end of the night though with Cody holding a baby cookie with one lit candle in it...we took this picture solely to have something to put on our blog, but then we left our camera in Wyoming! We'll send pictures as soon as we get it back. Anyways, we love you! Hope everyone had a great weekend!:)
