Can you believe school has started, and the fall season is just around the corner?  I absolutely love this time of year.  Every where you go, school supplies are being sold.  The leaves are beginning to turn and it's just beautiful!  Well to wrap up the summer, the group got together at Brittany's parents house to party it up with swimming, corn hole, great food, and great company.  We had a blast, Jaden had a blast, pretty sure everyone did!:) 

The boys played a whole lot of water football and cornhole.  The gals mainly played with the chillins and chatted it up!

Jaden LOVED every second of the pool.  He was so excited he was splashing and kicking all over the place!  He would kick his little legs to Daddy and then back to Mommy.... over and over and over again!  It was so darn cute!

These were the three youngest kiddos of the group.  All I can say is "darling!"

Jaden loved going to the zoo, and so did I:)  Beautiful day, great company, loads of fun.

I guess J-man was not up for posing for the camera in these ones... esp. the second shot!;)

Jaden's eyes started watering after I smothered him in sunscreen... poor guy!  So he strutted the shades in order to not aggravate them any further:)

Then it was on to the walrus.  I love the looks on the boys' faces!

The dolphin show was my favorite part, but probably Jaden's least favorite.  The jam packed bleachers made it impossible for him to wiggle, at all!

He sure loved checking out every other animal in the place though!  So many things to see like...

COWS!  (for some reason I found it a little random for an exotic zoo)  

That Swiss cow would be even more shaggy if someone hadn't given him that lovely haircut.  I love how the baby calf looks just like his momma!

Jaden and me with the elephants.  The last one was taken about 10 seconds before he zonked out.  The zoo can be so exhausting for a little tyke!

o.h.i.o.

Upon our return from the western states, we decided it would be unwise to unpack our bags.  Believe it or not, we were on the road again less than a week after touching Indiana soil.  We headed Northeast to Cleveland to see our great friends, the Rollins.  We were so excited to see them and had sooooo much fun!  It had been ages since we hung out with them!  Babies had been born, homes had been moved into, dental school craziness had been in the works for over a year... it was simply time to pay a visit to some of our best friends. 

So this is us at one of the yummiest pizza joints ever!  They also have these scrumptious meat balls served on their own little platter.  Random, but soooo good! (It's called Geraci's, I believe?)

Then it was on to Historic Kirtland.  Very cool and interesting.  Loved it!

Delicious east coast custard. This was also Jaden's first taste of ice cream!  I don't think he expected it to be so cold!:)

Kyla and I stayed up late chatting and chatting.  This is how much the boys loved the conversation;)

Road Trip Wrap-up

I come from a very patriotic family.  My grandfather, father, and brothers have all served our country in one aspect or another.  My mom loves the fact that she was born on Flag Day and blessed on Independence Day... especially since she was raised in a military family.  So... when it comes to the 4th of July, I get excited.  It is definitely one of my favorite holidays.  I grew up going to the parade each year, carnivals, BBQs, fireworks, etc.  Well it had been four years since I did all this traditional stuff.  Cody and I have lived out of state every summer since we were married back in 2007.  This year I was so, so excited to be back in Centerville to celebrate the holiday like I did when I was a kid and here is what we did:

Now you can't tell from the picture, but this is us at Founder's park enjoying the magician show/concert.

This is one of my besties, Lindsey.  Love her!  She had us over for a BBQ and fireworks at Thanksgiving Point (which just so happens to be in her backyard... awesome!).

p.s. Miss Jessica (bestie) got this cute little outfit for Jaden.  She's already spoiling him!:)

After the parade, we had a super delicious sloppy-joe lunch and fresh strawberries like this:

The day after Independence Day, Cody and I got to go on a date!  Just the two of us!  (Thanks to our awesome babysitters, G'ma and G'pa Moon.) Not that we don't mind having the cutest little 3rd wheel around ever, but it was nice to just relax and enjoy the evening with no baby's bedtime creeping up on us!:)

Well soon after all the festivities, it was time to say our goodbyes to a fantastic road trip!  We had sooooo much fun.  It was long, but great!  A big thank you to all those that hosted us along the way including the Price's who let us bunk with them for a night on our way home.  You guys are awesome!

So the last night before we returned to Indy, we managed to bathe three wiggly boys all at the same time.  It was crazy, but adorable!

Well, that is the last of our road trip posts.  And still, I am not yet caught up:)
