The week of Thanksgiving

We are so lucky to have family nearby to spend holidays with.  Thanksgiving was fabulous!  Monique made everything to perfection!  She at least let me make the pies and sweet potatoes:)  It was a fun, relaxing day spent with a family we love.  Thanks for having us!

Of course there was some football involved.  Monique called it a silly game of boys in tights chasing after a ball.  It was hilarious.

We loved having Cody to ourselves for a few days.  We spent an entire morning at the park doing photos for some friends and playing on the playground.  Yes, it was still warm enough for the park:)

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we went to a murder mystery dinner.  The majority of the group thought they were the murderer.  Comes to find out, we all attempted to kill the victim, but only one succeeded.  Kinda creepy, but a ton of fun!

Well the tree is up, the house decorated, and it's snowing outside:)  Love this time of year.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Feeling Crafty

I've never been one to label myself as a "crafty lady," but I think I've caught the crafting bug lately and have had tons of fun with it!

Lacey came over and we put these guys together for the Relief Society dinner.
My favorite is the photo memory block.  We have one hanging on our tree as an ornament and the other we'll give away as a gift.
I love the Terra Cotta treat jars too.  I just held onto the black one, and let's just say it's hard to keep it full of candy.
The Mason Jar picture frame is definitely unique, but kinda cool.  It's basically a photo sitting in a jar of olive oil.

My friends share a love for Pinterest and Brittany showed us how to put these little cuties together.  Super simple hair bows (still in need of clips and headbands).

: cards, magnet clips, and Christmas decor :
I went to a Christmas card-making party, but I was super low on birthday cards for the YW, so I used a bunch of Christmas paper and put a little twist on it to make it more birthday-ish.  Nothing says "happy birthday" like red, green, and a few snowflakes right?  Didn't go too fancy, just made as many as I could to stock up:)  Thanks Janet!!!
Brittany was also the instructor for the clips and "ho-ho-ho" frames:)

I wouldn't call this a craft, but a friend of mine got a bunch of new moms together and did a FHE packet exchange.  We each picked a topic (I did the Sabbath day) and put 10 packets together to send off.  It's been a lot of fun receiving the different packets and spicing up our family home evenings a bit.

  and just because...
here are a few snipits of our J-man

We had a few newspapers sitting on our kitchen table.  Jaden helped himself to a few during meal time.  He just read away like any cute little old man would:)

and here we have:
a little too much peanut butter consumption
buried in pillows
wrapped up in his towel after bath time just like Daddy does it
movie in the fort

We watched Jaden's buddy, Clark, one night and they were seriously the cutest things in their footsie pajamas.  They were jumping all over the bed together and swapping teddy bears and hats.  Loved it.

*halloween extras*

I pulled a few collages off Brittany's blog because I love them!:)

Remember how I said Jaden and Kenzie were the cutest little things saying their "night-nights" to each other on Halloween?  Well here is the proof.  They are the the best of buds and it's just so cute watching them play together.  Pure joy.
The bottom right picture is Jaden going in for a smooch.  He loves her;)

These are some close-ups on the awesome costumes from the Halloween party.  Lookin' good if you ask me!
