28 years & breaking ground

 Great weekend so far:

  • Cody turned 28 years old yesterday!  The much-anticipated GOLDEN birthday.  That's right, he turned 28 on the 28th:)
  • This morning was the ground-breaking of the Indianapolis Temple.  So awesome!
  • Tonight I get to hang with the gals and watch the General Relief Society broadcast:)

So we kind of spread out the celebrating of this golden of birthdays.  We tried out a couple new restaurants...  last week was the Oaken Barrel Brewing Company, and last night we went to Tony Sacco's Coal Oven Pizza.  Both were delicious and will definitely be re-visited.  We also did a little shopping after dinner for Cody to pick out some birthday gifts:)  It was nice to have a break from the kiddos (well at least the one that doesn't sit still in his carseat for hours).  Our awesome friends took Jaden for the evening; he had a blast running around with their Mr. Brody.  They sent us this picture 15 minutes after we dropped him off:)

We couldn't leave Jaden out of all the fun though.  Afterall, he gets 10x more excited about birthdays than we do these days.  Cody had the morning off so we rolled ourselves out of bed for a free grand-slam breakfast at Denny's.  Jaden called it a "party!"

Jaden wanted to make a card for his Daddy too.  When I asked him what he wanted to draw on the card, he said Candy Land and Chutes & Ladders.  Those are his favorite games they play together:) Can you tell where the land of Licorice is? :)

We ended the night with some oh so yummy chocolate ice-cream cake.  Cody is a total sucker for the ice cream cake.  The stuff might not look stellar, but it tasted stellar (if I do say so myself ;).

Jaden was SOOOO over-the-top excited to help his Daddy blow out those candles... if you couldn't tell by the look on his face:)

Happy Birthday babe!

After the night of birthday bliss, we awoke early for the Indianapolis Temple ground breaking.  The messages and music shared were simply wonderful.  Cody has a voice that can make your heart melt like butter (well my heart that is;), so he received an invitation to sing in the choir.  Umm... awesome!  Lucky dog got to participate in breaking the ground and everything!  The chillins and I watched the broadcast from our stake center:)

Our stake president and all the bishops from our stake are pictured below.

Now off to the RS broadcast! :)
