Our sweet Brielle Diane arrived Monday, April 30th at 6:33 p.m.
7 lbs. 10 oz.
21 3/4 inches
Baby Bri made her debut much quicker than anticipated. When it was time... it. was. time.
:the timeline:
1:30 doctor appointment (1-2 cm)
made hospital appointment for following day (ya know... in case I didn't go into labor before then)
around 3:30 contractions came on strong and fast
timed them for an hour (averaged every 3-4 minutes, 30-40 seconds long)
called the doctor
was told to head to the hospital
was told to head to the hospital
Casey and Kimber arrived for a night of fun and food along their journey East.
We vetoed those plans and Jaden got them all to himself instead:)
Packed last minute things for the hospital.
Arrived at hospital 5:45.
5 cm at 6:00.
8 cm 6:10
10 cm 6:20
born 6:33 p.m.
Here we are about to head to the hospital!
(had to force a smile in between contractions)
(had to force a smile in between contractions)
a few "perks" come with only spending 45 minutes of labor at the hospital:
There's no time for anything!
no IV
no fetal monitor
no epidural (or any pain relief for that matter)
no water breaking (for real, she was born still in the amniotic sac)
no water breaking (for real, she was born still in the amniotic sac)
we pretty much only had to time to gown up, wheel me over to labor & delivery, freak out at the thought of going natural, and then say hello to Mrs. Punctual who insisted on coming on her due date:)
gratefully my doctor arrived in time to slip on some gloves and catch the baby:)
(he also mentioned he did a little stripping of membranes at my appointment earlier that day...)
Wowza. After getting over the shock of it all, we welcomed little Bri back from the nursery.
Kinda had a mini- déjà vu.
So which of these littles is Jaden and which is Brielle?
(Jaden: top, Brielle: bottom)
It was love at first sight. This girl is seriously so sweet.
So fun to have visitors come and meet Brielle.
Thank you for brightening up my room!
Cody gave me the watch as a "push gift."
Definitely came in handy when we had to time contractions:)
a few close-ups
Jaden was pretty awe struck at first sight of his little sister.
Only took a minute and he was back to his active self.
He gets so excited to hold her and loves to give hugs and kisses.
Time to go home!
We were welcomed home with balloons, homemade banner, birthday cupcakes, etc.
Jaden picked out the Dora just for sister.
Check out that cute baby booty corsage!
So good to be home and have Mom Cutler with us for a week.
Jaden always wants to hold her. Good thing he's catching on to the whole "soft and gentle" concept:)
Brielle is growing fast and we're adjusting well.
More to come!
More to come!
