summer days

Well to wrap up our summer of 2016...

Water is the number one way to beat the heat in sunny Arizona!  So we swam in our friend's pool a bunch and the kids always had a great time!

Once "monsoon season" hit, the kids took advantage of the rain and jumped to their hearts content to cool off a bit.

splash padding for days

more splash padding and fro-yo with friends

The kids loved getting mail from Grammie after her visit in June!

Daddy spent a couple days in Utah for the wedding of someone he baptized on his mission.  The family means a lot to him and he means a lot to this very special family.  It was such a neat experience and they treated him just like part of the fam.

He met up with his Dad too, and had a great time catching up while he was in the area.

He was also pretty jazzed about strutting around his sweet rental truck for the trip:)

Brielle's first Diamondbacks game with Dad

She loved the one-on-one time and picking out her very own hat.  Totally zonked on the way home though:)

Still my little girly girl.  I'm seeing myself more and more in this little human.  Claws for the curls and a bit of make-up:)

Can never get enough dress-up...

with brother too:)

public restroom entertainment...

Cody loves to treat the kiddos now and then with a night out... especially when mom is away at mutual, girls night, etc.

This treasured snakey has been in the fam since last summer, but the kids still love him more and more every day.  He's loosing all his fluff, but I can't convince them to let him go:(

Water kickball with the ward youth at the park.  Always so fun!

We love date nights with friends.  This crew are some of the best and we just love our time together!  Christina was turning 30 so we had to make it an extra special date night.  Escape room, cake, and our favorite apple pie that can't be beat.  Oh, and the burgers at Joe's Farm and Grill are amazing.

Yes, we squeezed 8 of us into the 'ol mini van.  Good times!

Landon has finally reached the age where he can go into Kid's Club with J and Bri.  We love Bashas grocery store and the kids love the Kid's Club.

Movie Night at Fat Cat's.  Recliner chairs and pizza delivered right to us.

and a little bite as a fam

summer arcade games

staying entertained while J is at karate

Annual visit to Sunsplash!

and they switched jammies...

how many can fit in the pack-n-play fort?

Landon playdate with Luke

And a playdate for Bri with her bestie, Claire.  Caught them on the foscam all dressed up playing with ponies.

Jaden isn't one to get too sentimental, but he couldn't help but smile ear to ear when holding our neighbor's baby for the first time... even tried to hide it;)  So sweet.

an attempt at doing his own hair

sometimes he gets a little gel crazy;)

Jaden lost both his front teeth last summer, and was totally toothless for the start of his 1st grade year!  Super cute if you ask me:)

It was so loose but he didn't want me to pull it, so we headed over to Dad's office for a more formal tooth removal...

And to no one's surprise, it popped right out!

Coloring for days!  The kids love these coloring number pages and Bri worked long and hard on this pony mural of hers.  She was so proud to finally finish it.

Other random shenanigans.  Riding little brother's trike with oodles of blankies on board and a princess/superhero dress-up mix:)

Brielle started ballet last summer and is completely in love!  She started out with a super fun ballet princess camp to get her familiar with the dance studio and teachers.

They even brought in princesses one of the days for the girls to meet and dance with.

They were all so cute in their new sparkly tutus and princess crowns.

The last day they performed a sweet little dance they had been working on during camp.  It was precious!

Landon got to wear some of Daddy's old suspender shorts from 30 years ago and looked super cute in them for church!

We added Daddy's mini-suit coat too and it was so so cute.

One Sunday afternoon, my childhood bestie, Jessica, totally surprised me with a visit!  She had a long layover here in Arizona on her way to Africa for an awesome service trip.  It was so great seeing her and having her join our family for dinner.

Build your own homemade personal pizza night for family home evening.  The kids loved it!

Got me a new summer highlight!

Jaden totally rocked his 100 books summer reading challenge!  He made a list of all the books he read was rewarded at the end of the summer.  Such a stud and fantastic reader!

Sometimes the kiddie pool makes it's way inside and turns into a spaceship, airplane, etc.

These two were being super cute and kissy one day during lunch.  Didn't catch a smooch on camera but it was too funny.

Summer cleaning!  So much dust during monsoon season!

Jaden spent a week working really hard building his marble maze and it turned out great.

Buffalo Wild Wings with Dad.

sibling screen time

and a visit to the Gilbert temple for FHE

Love this family of mine and the long summer days.
